Tennis Fall On You! Governor's Cup 2017 Gets Date (See Evidence)

Organisers of the annual Governor's Cup Lagos Tennis Championship have fixed a date for the two-week long ITF Futures.

Naija Tennis Special checks on the ITF website showed that the tournament has been scheduled to hold in October, 2017, before the Dala Hard Court tournament in Kano later in the year.

In a chat with the tournament director, Prince Wale Oladunjoye, our correspondent gathered that plans are already in place for the proper organization of the two-week long championship which attracts players from all over the world.

"I am glad that you have been following the Governor's Cup for quite a while now and I believe the fact that we have a date for the tournament in July clearly states our readiness to host the world again.
The dates as confirmed on the ITF website.
"The tournament shall hold from October 9-21 right here in Lagos and we are expecting qualitative turnout and participation from both local and foreign players in the country. We are ready to host the world," Prince Oladunjoye, a grassroots developer, told Naija Tennis Special.

Earlier this year, the Tombim, Dayak and GSL Opens in Abuja presented the Nigerian tennis players an unusual opportunity of playing ITF Futures for three consecutive weeks right in front of their home fans.

The successful hosting of the Governor's Cup Tennis Championship will make it the first time in so many years that Nigerian tennis players have been exposed to ITF Futures for five weeks within their own country.
