Junior ITF Circuit: Nigeria's Bulus Hammers Stubborn French Player, Set For Singles Final

In his bid to qualify for the finals of the Junior ITF Circuit in Togo and win it for Nigeria, Christopher Bulus made sure to defeat Hugo Jardin from France in the two gruesome sets on Thursday evening.

The Nigerian number seven seed fought really hard against the die hard French ending the first set in a tie breaker 7-6(4) before ending the match 6-4 to send the Nigerian contingent to the tournament into a wild jubilation.

Bulus defeated the stubborn French player, set to advance to the finals.
In his semi final match today, Bulus will clash against Cyril Lago of Cote D'Ivoire, the tournament's number eight seed, for a place in the final.

This result is contrary to what happened in the girls' doubles semis where Oyinlomo Quadri, who has had a mixed tournament, lost her match where she partnered Cameroon's Carmine Becoude to unseeded French players.

Naija Tennis Special understands that the players are not demoralized regardless of the challenges of they have been facing since the commencement of the tournament.

In the first leg, Adetayo Adetunji won the girls' Singles but did not enter for the second leg, and Bulus fell short in the semis, dropping to play for third place in the ITF tournament for juniors.

The third and final leg of the tournament will commence next week and Nigerian players will be fired up to ensure that they return to the country with podium place finishes.
