Hard Luck: Marylove Loses To No 7 Seed At The Junior Orange Bowl Championship

Marylove Edwards, Nigeria's prodigiously talented tennis player, has played her last game at the 2017 Junior Orange Bowl Tennis Championship in Miami, after losing to the tournament's seventh seed, Priya Nelson.

The Nigerian youngster who went to the junior championship via her sponsorship at the Nick Bolleteri Tennis Academy by the Tennis Management Company, had stunned her first two opponents in the championship winning in straight sets.

Edwards could, however, not maintain the momentum when she was paired with Nelson, whom she fought with in the first set, playing the tie breaker, before losing in the second set in a 7-6 (2), 6-2 game.

She was participating in her third tournament in the United States since her four-year move to the biggest tennis academy in the world barely five months ago.
