Imeh, Sylvester, 2 Others Qualify For Main Draws As Tombim ITF Futures Serves Off In Abuja

Four Nigerian players successfully made it to the main draw of the Tombim ITF Futures which serves off in Abuja, Nigeria's federal capital on Monday, 16 April, 2018, Nigerian Tennis Live can report.

According to the draw sheet on the ITF website, Joseph Imeh, Nigeria's number one male tennis player hustled his way to the main draws by playing the qualifiers, the same was the fate of top tennis star, Sylvester Emmanuel, who sneaked into the main event.

Emmanuel Audu is the third Nigerian to make it to the main draws of the Nigeria Futures 1 through the qualifying stages while Michael Michael, the last Nigerian on the log, got a wild card to compete against topic tennis pros.

The Tombim ITF Futures is one of the ITF pro-circuit tournaments serving West and Central Africa and this year's tournament is attended by players from different parts of the world, with Markus Eriksson, a top 200 player from Sweden, emerging as the top seed and favourite to win the Singles event.

Only two Nigerian players (Imeh and Sylvester) will be in action today in the Doubles event, while the four of the Nigerians in the Singles event will be competing in the singles event on Tuesday.
