CBN Open: Sylvester Averts Major Scare, Beats Musa Bala In 2-Hour Duel

One of the hopefuls for a final place berth at the ongoing Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Tennis Open Championship, Sylvester Emmanuel, survived what would have been a major upset in his second round match against Musa Bala.

The Davis Cup player who was arguably Nigeria's best player at the team tournament in Kenya, was stretched in his match against the Jos-based player, playing 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Nigerian Tennis Live gathered that the exciting duel lasted a minimum of two hours as spectators were treated to some great deal of tennis actions by both players who showed so much expertise and composure in the game.

With this result, Sylvester, a former Nigerian number one male tennis player, will square up against Henry Atseye, who seems to be a lover of the tournament, having played the finals twice, winning one and losing the other.

It promises to be a really tough encounter when both players take to court in one of the encounters to watch out for as the CBN Open nears its end.

Nigerian Tennis Live will keep monitoring the tournament and continue with a daily report about the Nigerians' progress.
