The Young Have Grown: Imeh, Sylvester Crush Senior Players As Enosoregbe Dumps Otu In CBN Open Cracker

The days of senior players beating all the juniors in Nigerian tennis seems to have ended as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Tennis Open championship is fast proving.

In some of the matches decided today, almost all the one-time juniors dispatched their opponetns in dramatic fashion as they seek a total dominance of Nigerian tennis in the years to come.

Nigerian Tennis Live reports that Joseph Imeh keeps justifying his place as Nigeria's best tennis player at the moment by defeating veteran tennis superstar, Shehu Lawal in two straight sets of 6-3, 6-4 while Sylvester Emmanuel was responsible for the defeat of top tennis star, Henry Atseye with the same scoreline.

Joseph Imeh keeps proving why he remains the man to beat in Nigerian tennis at the moment.
In another blockbuster match between two former national champions, Clifford Enosoregbe was the better player on the day, as he defeated Thomas Otu in two straight sets of 7-6 (3), 6-3, as he announces his return to the big stage having suffered terrible defeats in the past.

Enosoregbe will fancy his chances of winning the elusive CBN Open title having won the Dala Hard Court tournament, the inaugural and only edition of the NPA Open in Abuja and lost in the finals of the CBN Open to Atseye.

For Abdulmumin Babalola, who is fast becoming one of Nigeria's greatest tennis players ever, it was a case of still moving on with his title defence as Michael Michael stood no chance against him. Babalola won 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the quarter final stage of the competition.

Nigerian Tennis Live keeps monitoring the players in Abuja and will keep reporting their progress as the tournament continues.
