Lagos Open: Top Seed Hails Organisers, Says This Edition Is A Much Improved Package

Conny Perrin, the female number one seed at the ongoing Lagos Open International Tennis Championships, has hailed the organizers of the annual ITF Pro Circuit, noting that the 2018 edition is a much improved version of the competition.

The Swiss player who spoke with journalists after defeating India's Jennifer Luikham in two straight sets of 6-4, 6-2, noted that with every year she's been in Lagos, there has always been something to cheer about.

She particularly lauded the organizers for putting up a world class event which she says can match up with tournaments from other parts of the world.

"Yeah, I have been to Nigeria a couple of times already and I believe this event keeps getting better with each competition.

"This year's event is honestly a much improved package and it's important that the organizers keep working on making it even bigger," she told journalists.

Action resumes at the Lagos Open on Wednesday as players keep up the fight for a place in the next phase of the competition.

Nigerian players have, however, not been too impressive with their performances in this first leg with most of them losing their first round matches.
