Benin Tourney: Sylvester, Bulus, Sarah Land In 2nd Round Without Hitting A Ball

Reports reaching Nigerian Tennis Live from Benin Republic have it that the Nigerian players competing in the local tournament there have advanced to the second round of the competition without hitting a ball.

According to feelers from the tiny West African country, the players who departed the country over the weekend, got a bye to advance to the second phase of the ONG PLAY YOUR GAME Tennis Open without having to play a game.

Sylvester Emmanuel, Christopher Bulus, Sarah Adegoke and Donatus Lovett are the Nigerian players who went to the West African country to keep themselves in competitive mood ahead of the final weeks of competition in Nigeria.

Sylvester Emmanuel did not have to hit a ball before advancing to the second round of the Benin Tournament.

Barcelona-based Sylvester popularly referred to as Major who is using the tournament to stage a return to competitive tennis action after an injury set back for weeks, will be really eager to get on the courts to show how much improvements he has made over the past few months.

Bulus who has been one of the most improved juniors in the country over the past few months and played in his first ITF pro-circuit this year, will expect to do better at the championship as well as Sarah Adegoke, who only lost her Dala Hard Court title over the weekend to Blessing Samuel.

According to the draw sheet obtained by Nigerian Tennis Live, players from Togo, Cameroun and Ghana will participate in the championship which runs from 27 November to 2 December, 2017.
