This was the lot of Nigeria's Donatus Lovett, who lost her first match in the Singles Main Draw at the ongoing Women's ITF Futures in Dakar, Senegal after struggling really hard to make it past the qualifying stage.
| Sarah Adegoke could not also get anything out of her doubles match against the top seeds. |
Nigerian Tennis Live reports that Lovett lost the match which lasted one and a half hours in two straight sets of 3-6, 3-6, but had done enough to show her level of development over the past few years.
In the Women's Doubles, the Nigerian pair of Sarah Adegoke and Oyinlomo Quadre could not overcome the fierce competition they faced against Sizikova Yana and Vaselinovis Ana, the number one seed in the Doubles event as they crashed to a 4-6, 0-6 loss.
With these results, Nigeria's only hopes of having their players advance at the ITF pro-circuit is if Aminat Quadri and her younger sibling, Oyinlomo can produce some moments of magic against their top opponents on Tuesday.
Nigerian Tennis Live shall keep monitoring the players' progress in the championship and keep our readers posted.
