Oyinlomo, Yakubu Sisters Set To Shine As Junior CBN Open Hots Up In Lagos

One of the most anticipated junior tournaments of the year - the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Open - served off at the tennis section of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Monday, 2 April, 2018, Nigerian Tennis Live can report.

This tennis blog gathered that over 160 junior players had signified their intentions in participating and had reached out to the organisers, but a screening exercise was still held to determine which player is fit for the championship or not.

With so many young players growing through the ranks and becoming outstanding seniors in the country, it is expected that this year's tournament will also open up a pathway to greatness for some other youngsters; one of such youngsters is Oyinlomo Quadri.

The player whose outstanding performance in the juniors earned her a scholarship at the ITF High Performance Centre in Morocco recently, will strive to cement her place in the junior cadre of Nigerian tennis as she slowly metamorphoses into the seniors.

Nigerian Tennis Live also gathered that the Yakubu sisters; Oiza and Nene will also be participating in the tournament to give tennis players a run for their money.

Other relatively unknown youngsters are expected to light up the competition and showcase their talents to the numerous crowd that will storm the stadium to catch a glimpse of their skills.
