In other matches decided today, Nigeria's number one tennis star, Joseph Imeh, continued his winning streak in the tournament with a 6-1, 6-4 defeat of John Otu; Abdulmumin Babalola also moved closer to defending his title as he won in two straight sets of 6-1, 6-3 against Philips Abayomi.
Henry Atseye, a former winner of the competition, is also through to the next phase of the tournament, after recording a 6-3, 6-2 win over Daniel Odeh.
